MCP server

Make videos from your AI agent

Connect Codex, Claude Code or Grok CLI to Wan 3.0 with one command. Approve it once in your browser, then ask for a video in plain words: your agent starts the render, waits for it and hands you the MP4.

codex mcp add wan3 --url https://wan3.video/mcpReal recordings: one command, one click in the browser, then a 5-second 720P video. The wait is sped up.

Install in one command

There is no key to copy. Run the command for your agent, then sign in to wan3.video in your browser and click Allow.

Codex
codex mcp add wan3 --url https://wan3.video/mcp

Your browser opens right away. Click Allow, then start codex and ask for a video.

Claude Code
claude mcp add --scope user --transport http wan3 https://wan3.video/mcp

Start Claude Code, type /mcp, choose wan3 and pick Authenticate.

Grok CLI
grok mcp add --transport http wan3 https://wan3.video/mcp

Start grok, type /mcps, select wan3 and press i.

How it works

  1. Add wan3

The command saves the server address, https://wan3.video/mcp, in your agent's settings.

  2. Allow it in your browser

Sign in to wan3.video and click Allow. Your agent gets its own API key, named after it, which you can revoke at any time.

  3. Ask for a video

Describe the shot. The agent starts the render and checks back until the MP4 is ready, usually within a few minutes.

Videos use your credits at the same prices as the website, and failed generations are refunded automatically. See pricing.

What your agent can do

Six tools that run the same operations as the REST API. Only generate_video spends credits.

MCP tools
get_accountfreeYour credit balance, membership and how many videos are rendering.
list_modelsfreeThe models with their resolutions, durations and credits per 5 seconds.
generate_videospends creditsStarts a text-to-video, image-to-video or video-edit render with your credits.
get_videofreeWaits up to 45 seconds for a render and returns its download link once it's done.
list_videosfreeYour videos, newest first.
create_uploadfreePrepares an upload of a local image or video and returns a ready-to-run curl command.

Use an API key instead

For CI jobs and machines without a browser, create a key on the API keys page, export it as WAN3_API_KEY, then add the server with it:

Codex
codex mcp add wan3 --url https://wan3.video/mcp \
  --bearer-token-env-var WAN3_API_KEY
Claude Code
claude mcp add --scope user --transport http wan3 https://wan3.video/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer $WAN3_API_KEY"
Grok CLI
grok mcp add --transport http wan3 https://wan3.video/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer $WAN3_API_KEY"

Codex reads the key from the environment each time it starts. Claude Code and Grok CLI save the expanded key in their own config files, so keep those files as private as the key itself.

Questions

Which AI agents can use Wan 3.0?

Any MCP client that connects to remote servers over Streamable HTTP. Codex, Claude Code and Grok CLI sign in through the browser; other clients can send an API key in the Authorization header to https://wan3.video/mcp.

How much does it cost?

Connecting is free. Each video costs the same credits as on the website: your agent can look up prices with list_models, and failed generations are refunded automatically.

What can the agent do with my account?

It can generate videos with your credits, see your videos, balance and membership, and upload files for your generations. It can't see your payment details or change your plan. If auto-recharge is on, its spending can trigger a top-up, just like spending on the website.

Can it animate my own images?

Yes. Ask it to animate a local image: it calls create_upload, runs the curl command it gets back to upload the file, then starts an image-to-video render.

Where do the videos go?

Every video your agent makes also appears in your history on wan3.video. The agent gets a direct MP4 link when one is available; otherwise it points you to your history, where you can watch and download the video.

How do I disconnect an agent?

Revoke its key on the API keys page, where it's named after the agent, such as “Codex · MCP”. To remove the server from the agent as well, run codex mcp remove wan3, claude mcp remove --scope user wan3 or grok mcp remove wan3.

Your next video is one sentence away

Add wan3 to your agent, or make the video yourself in the browser with the same models.
